Cardamon Spiced Oatmeal with Dates and Pistachio

Comforting oatmeal is always a good idea for breakfast. I like to play around with different ingredients to jazz up my oatmeal to make it delicious and nutritious. This recipe is inspired by my Middle-Eastern roots, combining the wonderful flavours of dates, pistachio and cardamon.Hope you enjoy this recipe, sahtein!

Cardamon Spiced Oatmeal with Dates and Pistachio

Ingredients

2 1/4 cup almond milk

1/3 cup oatmeal

2 tbsp. chia seeds

1 tbsp. hemp seed

1 tbsp. almond flakes

1 tbsp. coconut flakes

1 banana, mashed

4 dates, finely chopped

1 tbsp. pistachio, roughly chopped

1 tsp. cinnamon powder.

1/4 tsp. cardamom powder

Maple syrup or agave syrup

Directions

1Heat the almond milk in a saucepan. Add oatmeal and chia seeds, bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for a few minutes. Remove saucepan off the heat and add hemp seeds, almond flakes, coconut flakes,mashed bananas, dates, chopped pistachios, cinnamon and cardamom powder; mix ingredients together.

2Serve hot with maple syrup or agave syrup.
